Teach for Climate Justice Costa Rica Retreat

Join with other educators to travel to Indigenous territory in the heart of Costa Rica’s rainforest to explore how to bring climate justice education into the classroom and your institution. This 7-Day retreat will run during various dates in 2025, with the next retreat running from July 27-Aug 2, 2025. Retreat facilitators, Matthew Cook and Bernarda Morales, will provide you with the tools you need to bring climate justice education home to your students.

Highlights include:

  • Connecting with the beauty and exuberant biological diversity of the Central American rainforest.

  • Immersion in the Bribri community of Yorkín to experience an Indigenous perspective on our relationship with the natural world and how to resist the forces that are harming it.

  • Rediscovering the joy of working in community to confront the greatest challenge of our time

  • Real strategies you can use in your school that are designed by and for educators, based on Teach for Climate Justice: A Vision for Transforming Education and on the Teach for Climate Justice international movement
